It uses InDesign's own internal PDF engine and does not require Acrobat Distiller.
On starting KonaPDF this is what you will see first: a window asking you to choose the folder containing the InDesign documents you want to turn into PDFs (or a folder containing aliases to the InDesign files)

Next, you choose where you want to put the PDF files.

And that's it.
The filesize and quality of these PDFs depend on which Export to PDF preset is active in InDesign - the last-used preset is the active one. The [Screen] preset is ideal for making small, low-resolution PDFs suitable for emailing to clients.
KonaPDF for InDesign will output single pages as single-page PDFs and facing pages as spread PDFs. KonaPDF works with InDesign files set up for CMYK output: it will not work with spot colours.
Requirements:
OS X 10.4 Tiger (tested on 10.4.10) or OS X 10.3 Panther
Adobe InDesign CS (should work with Adobe InDesign CS2)
For KonaPDF to run smoothly, InDesign should already be running, all required fonts and colour profiles loaded and active, and images properly linked.
